You will remember that this stands for Cumbria African Relief Project.  At the moment, the South Cumbria Church, have a large amount of clothes etc ready for packing – we are looking for volunteers to help sort and pack, so do not be surprised if you are asked to volunteer!!  A big thanks to all who have contributed to this project so far.   You will remember the goods that are required are:

Good quality summer clothing for all ages,

Sewing machines, Typewriters, Computers, Bicycles, Spectacles, Toys.

In fact anything that can be used to help those who are so needy.

Countries that will benefit are:

17 countries in Africa,also Albania and Latvia.

Recipients:

Hospitals, Schools, Workshops, Skill Training Centres,

Aid Organizations including SDA/ADRA.

Donors:

Members/Family/Friends. Local Schools, Hospitals, Opticians,

Charity Shops (if they have an abundance of good things).

We are in the process of producing literature/posters etc to publicize our project.  Please let us have your feedback as to any other ideas you have that may be workable alongside what has already been proposed.

Birthdays and Anniversaries

Stephanie Shaw celebrates her birthday on the 18^th March. Lily Norris will be 77 years of age on the 11^th April. Kathleen Munn’s birthday is on the 14^th April.     Pat and John Goyder celebrate their Wedding anniversary on the 13^th April.   Violet and Gordon will have been married for 31 years on the 23^rd April.
